Meraki Lanka Tours started in 2016. The name comes from a Greek word, meraki. It means doing something with soul, care, and full attention. That is still how we plan every trip today.
We plan tours across the whole island. Ancient cities, wildlife parks, misty mountains, quiet beaches — wherever you want to go in Sri Lanka, we take you there. We do not run fixed group departures. Yes. We plan and run private tours everywhere in Sri Lanka, from the Cultural Triangle to the south coast to the misty hill country. Wherever you want to explore, we bring a private guide and vehicle to you.
How much experience does the Meraki Lanka Tours team have?
Meraki Lanka Tours has planned private tours since 2016, over 10 years now. Our guides add more than 40 years of combined experience between them. That covers every region, from the Cultural Triangle to the south coast.
Are Meraki Lanka Tours’ guides licensed?
Yes. Our guides are registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). They also train through the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM). Training covers first aid, customer care, and local history and geography.
Will I share a vehicle or guide with another travel group?
No. Every tour runs in one private, air-conditioned vehicle. It is reserved for your travel party alone. You will not share a vehicle or a guide with another group, at any point.
Are private tours more expensive than group tours?
Not necessarily. We own our vehicles and hire our guides directly. That means no middleman fees added to your price. Private does not have to mean expensive, it means no shared schedule, and no compromises.
Can I change my itinerary once the trip has started?
Yes, any time, with no penalty. Just message your guide on WhatsApp. We will rearrange stops, routes, or pacing on the spot. Your plans change, so your itinerary changes too.
